Drug allergies - There are many people who are allergic to certain medications like penicillin and other antibiotics. This may range from mild to life-threatening.


Symptoms of a drug allergy can include an itchy throat that starts shortly after taking a new medication.


Acid reflux - This is also known as heartburn. This is a condition wherein stomach acid goes back up to the esophagus.


The relevance of acid reflux with an itchy throat is when a person has a silent reflux with itchy throat as a symptom.
