Did you know that hair typically grows on a quarter inch half an inch max per month? Hair loss is not necessarily a condition that affects a person’s overall health, but it can greatly impact their mental well-being and self-esteem.

Doing some home remedies and taking good care of the hair may help enhance thickness and growth. If a person is experiencing hair loss, they should try natural home remedies.

Hair growth depends on several factors, including a person’s genetic history. Other people experience aging-related hair thinning or male or female pattern balding. Sometimes, however, hair loss is inevitable due to age.

The following conditions can be the result of hair loss:

  • giving birth

  • having a fever

  • having an inadequate protein intake

  • undergoing major surgery

  • having a severe chronic illness

Also, avoid styling products that can damage and break the hair, such as blow-dryers set to a high heat, straightening irons, curling irons, use of bleach, relaxers, and hair dyes.

Eating a nutritious diet and keeping stress levels low can help prevent hair loss and encourage hair growth.

Other factors, such as stress, trauma, and anxiety, may also contribute to hair loss as studies show that they can have an inhibitory effect on hair growth.

These factors can cause your hair to fall and may eventually lead to balding. Lack of sleep, hormonal changes, and a diet deficient in nutrients can hamper the growth of healthy hair.

It can also affect hair growth as these factors can reduce the supply of blood and oxygen to your scalp.

Here are several tips to achieve hair growth at home without using expensive hair products:

Shampoo Less - A lot of people skip conditioner when showering, which is the worst thing you can do for your hair, especially when you’re trying to grow it long.

Load up on the hair conditioning mask to prevent those split ends. In reality, shampoo should be skipped as much as possible.

The purpose of shampoo is to wash away dirt and product buildup, but most shampoos are filled with harsh soaps called sulfates, which strip away natural oils you need for long, healthy hair.

When you do need to cleanse your hair, make sure to choose a sulfate-free shampoo and only lather up at your scalp, letting the suds slide down the rest of the hair as the water rinses the formula away.

Rinse With Cold Water - Washing your hair with cold water at then end of your shower can give an added boost of hair-growing power.

Cold water lays down the outer layer of your hair more smoothly, which helps prevent moisture loss, snags, and heat damage. You only need to do it for a few seconds, but this one extra step can make a huge difference over time.

Get frequent hair trims - This must be included in your lifestyle, specifically in your hair care routine. Experts say trimming your hair to make it grow faster, one thing’s for sure.

If you’re after long and healthy hair, frequent trims is highly recommended. Ask your stylist to take just an eighth of an inch off your hair every 10 to 12 weeks to prevent split ends before they even start.

Living with split ends will eventually cause your hair to break farther up on the strand, which will not only make your hair look way thinner but, you know, also keep it from ever getting longer past a certain point.

- Stay away from bleach. Bleaching your hair opens up the cuticle of your hair strands, causing significant damage. And hair that’s been color- or chemically treated is more likely to break off or split.
