This is a condition wherein stomach acid or contents move back up into the throat and esophagus. This can cause a burning sensation in the chest with a very sour taste in the mouth.


Asthma


This is one of the most common breathing disorders. This is caused by an inflammation in the airways which can cause those chest pains, coughing, shortness of breath, and wheezing.


Collapsed Lung


This occurs when there is air buildup in the space between the lungs and ribs. When a lung collapses, you will feel a sudden chest pain when breathing, tiredness, and a rapid heart rate.


Costochondritis


This is an inflammation of the cartilage in the rib cage. This causes chest pain since the chest is near the rib cage, The pain from this condition may get worse when you’re sitting or lying down.


Esophageal Contraction Disorders


These are spasms or contractions in the food pipe and can cause chest pains. This means that contractions of the esophagus are uncoordinated and irregular.


When this occurs, the food will get stuck in the esophagus.


Symptoms for chest pain are either heart-related or entirely not.


Heart-related symptoms include:


  • Chest tightness

  • Fatigue

  • Dizziness

  • Back, jaw, or arm pain

  • Nausea

  • Shortness of breath

  • Abdominal pain


Other symptoms that aren’t heart-related include:
